Photography is just better when shared

Start with What You Love

LPC is built for photographers of all levels to connect and create together. Whether you’re here to shoot, share, or just explore, you’re already part of something meaningful.

Ways to participate now:

• Join a Field Session and connect with others

• Submit to a community project—no experience needed

Want to Help Build the Club?

LPC is in its early days—and that’s what makes it exciting. We’re inviting creative people to help shape what comes next. There are no formal titles or applications. Just opportunities to contribute.

Ways to help LPC grow:

  • Lead or assist with a Field Session

Help structure and guide on-location shooting experiences for members of all skill levels.

  • Support a Community Project

Contribute research, coordination, or image curation to one of LPC’s core documentary initiatives.

  • Provide technical or editing support

Offer guidance on file prep, Lightroom, metadata, or image organization for those who need a hand.

  • Assist with mentorship and peer learning

Share your knowledge—whether it’s helping a beginner or co-hosting a small critique session.

  • Help plan exhibitions or print displays

Support the design, printing, and installation of LPC showcases in public spaces.

  • Strengthen local community connections

Help build relationships with libraries, archives, businesses, or individuals who share our mission.

  • Document context through writing or audio

Support LPC’s visual work by collecting background stories, spoken histories, or written context from the people and places we photograph.

  • Support public teaching efforts

Help us run free workshops, beginner classes, or skill-sharing sessions open to the public.

What’s Ahead

We’re laying the foundation for long-term initiatives—and you can help shape them. If any of these speak to you, let us know.

Upcoming projects and programs:

• Beginner classes and workshops

• Submissions to the Leelanau Historical Society

• Public exhibitions of member work

• Storytelling and documentation training

• Local speaker sessions and critiques

There are many ways to get involved—what matters is that you show up

Start simple, or help build what’s next. Either way, you’re welcome here.
